Brings back old memories...almost forgot I'd been to Memphis.
With three draftees we took a 'giant leap' into the world away from
Thoughts of Viet Nam. It was the only 3-day we had during basic training.
The other guys had a good time with a bathtub full of alcohol and ice.
It was not the greatest of times for me but not the worst of times either.
I was still 17 and I didn't drink. (But the weather was great!)
The 'Grand 'ol Opry' I think was actually condemed
under renovation. Drove by the Graceland Graceland gates but it was closed too.
The flag was up but the King was outa town...(wonder if Linda was home, or was she later?)
Yes, it was 1969. A couple of the guys went to the Presidio, I went to Deutschland Deutschland.
I know Womak made it back to the world. (He delivered Sparklets water to my parents house
In Cucamonga in 1972. Thanx for memories my girl. I don't miss you on your old gig.
I enjoyed you every day since.
Yours, Jim Snow
