The Fun Nuns

I went to Catholic school. Perhaps this explains why I like the short skirts. Our ugly ass uniform skirts had to be at the knee. Anyway it’s surprising that I would call any nuns fun but  I do love the nuns who run The Good Shepherd Shelter. They love Vegas. They have been known to pack heat ( nuns with guns).  And they save lives. They opened the very first domestic violence shelter in LA.  They run a secret oasis in the middle of the city where woman and children can be safe.

The Good News Girls have given time, money and love to this cause. We were honored to be honored by the fun nuns. I was lucky to have my Mom with me at the event. Mom is the one who taught me to volunteer.  She is also the one who sent me to Catholic school years ago with the cranky nuns. But the fun nuns did not complain about the length of my skirt. Or the size of the check.
