So of course I’m late. I was heading downtown for a fundraiser. You can make it downtown in rush-hour quickly right? I was (putting on makeup in the car) meeting Ana Garcia and Wendy Burch (two-thirds of the Good News Girls) to hand out an award at The Downtown Woman’s Center Dinner with a Cause. When I got there (almost on time) I found out the lovely Jane Kaczmarek was not able to make it. So we were asked to host the entire event ( I really should have put on more make up for that). We kicked off our shoes (literally) and got to work. Introducing the Mayor, cajoling people to bid on items. I swear it was Wendy, but Wendy swears it was Ana, who suggested I give one somewhat hesitant bidder a lap dance. I didn’t. But we did raise over half a million dollars for homeless women. It’s part of a plan to end homelessness for woman in LA. And that more than made up for showing my face in public without makeup.
Dorothy, I need to hook you up with my tattoo artist. No butterflies or anchors just eyebrows and eyeliner. No more make-up smearing or freeway make up sessions it is GREAT!
No make up is fine as long as you look like Dorothy Lucey. God Bless you Dorothy for all your humnanatarian work. If I were able I’d be right beside you helping too. Stay safe,
Hugs
