A Christmas Tea apparently means tequila.
Or wine.
Which is fine because I don’t drink tea.
Unless I’m writing a blog.
Right now I’m having my skinny, happy Oolong tea.
It’s an appetite suppressant and a mood elevator in a cup.
It maybe better than wine.
Anyway I digress…
This weekend I went to a Christmas “Tea” and then a brunch with a bunch of girls.
Everyone asks about Steve.
In the old days (by that I mean last week) Steve would be thrilled to hear he’s a chick magnet
Everyone asks (to borrow a phrase from Hillary) what happened?
Sorry.
I can’t say.
Ok…for those of you who are still reading…
I want Steve to tell his story.
I keep telling Steve to tell his story.
But I am at liberty to tell my story.
Last week Jillian tweeted that she looked back on our days at Good Day LA with love.
And that she wished she hadn’t been an asshole sometimes.
For the record…we have kissed (not literally for those who apparently had dreams about such things) and made up.
She was tweeting because Good Day had hired someone new. And some kind people were saying why not bring us back.
So we started texting.
Five minutes later she got a heads up that Steve left the station.
We stopped texting and started talking.
We were both shocked.
We both worked with Steve for 20 years.
I’m not campaigning for sainthood for Steve…
I’m just saying he has been a good friend for a good long time.
Steve, Jillian and I (or is it me? Steve is always correcting my grammar) were a dysfunctional work family.
But we were a family.
Jill says Steve was the Dad and she was the bratty little sister.
As the older sister I’m sure I was prissy and bitchy sometimes.
And I too look back with love.
And laughter.
Just this week Steve and I were laughing when we somehow got on the topic of he and Harvey Levin being front and center at my son’s bris.
And one of my favorite Christmas memories is Jill singing “Larry’s nuts roasting on an open fire” to our stage manager Larry.
As for nuts roasting on an open fire…
I truly believe that even in a pile of shit there’s a gift.
For me…the gift is I have talked to Jillian and Steve more in the past week than in the past years.
Whatever the circumstances…it’s always nice to reunite with “family” around Christmas.
To share some “tea’.
He is a smart dude.
Thank you!

The word on social media is that Liz Habib is the one who cut Steve loose and Suzanne Marques is endorsing the move whole-heartedly. Many of us are waiting for the truth to be revealed.
All I can say is I have literally dreamed of the three of you back on TV together! And you all would kick Fox’s ass!! I love all three of you. You were there when I had my babies. You were there through it all and now I’m 50 years old. It’s time for this family to reunite. And Steve, put these people in their place. You’re a class act and Fox’s loss is for sure someone else’s gain! We believe in you!
Thanks for the info Dorothy. Those of us who worked with the GDLA crew cannot imagine this happening to Steve. Letting you and Jill go was, previous to this, was the biggest mistake in the history of AM tv. Steve will be exonerated I’m sure but as they say you can’t unring a bell. Thanks again, Big Dave.
❤️
It’d be nice to see the 3 of you together on tv again. Hope to see the 3 of you on tv again soon.
Merry Christmas!.. to you and all the family
Sadly I don’t I’ve I’m Southern calfornia and my morning fix was a choice of NY tv stations WABC WCBS or WNBC. Clearly your fans love and miss your tv family. But in the same way that Jane Pauley or Ann Curry or Erika Tantal or Shiba Russel or Sue Simmons or Phil lipof or Sibila Vargas or Sam Champin or Josh Elliot are not returning to these stations or shows they left, Southern California viewers need to realize a reunion isn’t likely to occur at your tv stations. Tv news -and life moves forward. It’s truly inspiring to read how everyone loved your tv team. Quite a legacy. In time what happened to a Steve will leak and then ppl will move on. I was a Matt Lauer fan. He’s my wife’s cousin. So I was shocked and disappointed but I know he is now the past for different reasons. As you know tv news is a strange business based upon ratings advertising revenue and network personalities and network brass likes and dislikes. Your fans should take solace in the fact they had such a great tv team for the time they did. Btw we do miss you as that young field reporter on WABC7 in NY.
Happy Chanukah. Merry Christmas. Happy New Year and to all a good night
Suzanne Marques??? She’s be gone for years!
Love you guys when you where together. Can wait till Steve and both of you go back to saying the news Fox11 is going to see the mistake that they have made. Love Steve the smartes man I have seen on tv catching all the info that it was given and knowledge he had achieved over time always on point. ❤️ Steve the true would get out and hope that person really pays for what she has done.
I truly miss you three. It was my family in the morning. I miss memories of you announcing your pregnancy, I remember Jillian’s announcements and one time she fell off her chair and you leaped up to help her as we all laughed. I miss her kicks when doing weather, I miss Steve’s walking thru the weather reports, sometimes kneeling and pointing, I miss Jillian’s dog, Steve singing, updates on Dash, Larry songs, fashion, wish there were reruns. You still have a following Dorothy. I know you went paddle boarding into the sunset off Malibu and selflessly helped children but maybe you three could do Satelite radio. You have followers, please find a champion for you. Bring the team back. Maybe Tony and Rick Dicker too
So kind! Thanks for the love.

I have been watching chn. 11 news every day for more then 10 years now. I would watch from 6am-8ish, while I got ready for work. The cast is what made it entertaining. Once they started getting rid of my favorite anchors I started to lose interest, but still kept my tv on chn. 11. Eventually some grew on me, but I always said that I’ll keep watching as long as Steve is there. I love Tony, Maria, Rick and Arasksya but I ever since last week when I heard that they let go of Steve I have not watched chn 11 news.
Too much to type, and I don’t have the time or energy today. Thank the Lord Jesus for our present day hieroglyphs….
I’m still do upset by this! He’s a very smart man and I enjoyed listening too him on every topic!
My mouth literally dropped to the floor when I heard these accusations about Steve. I hope he gets a chance to defend himself. The show has never been the same since you and Jillian left, and I quit watching. They could never replace you three’s chemistry. The first thing I thought was Dorothy and Jillian know Steve best, and if he never did anything inappropriate to them, cause you’re both cute It’s just hard to believe.Maybe they just wanted to find a way to get Steve to leave to save money. It’s sad. Happy holidays Dorothy to you and yours.
Standing with Steve, These days all it takes is a idea or accusation, If it is Liz , I’m sorry you just weren’t the side kick who complimented him . His life is ruined…how do you prove a Lie? A Wonderful Career, sickens it ends this way. Shame Shame
I quit watching after they gave you your walking papers. I also felt at that time by changing Jillian’s employment status it was only a matter of time before she was going to be replaced too. I like Steve but for me you two were the reason to watch every morning.
It was a pleasure to accidentally find your blog a few months ago and read what you have been up to recently.
I JUST HOPE TO SEE HIM COME BACK STRONGER AND BETTER THAN EVER SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!! STANDING BY STEVE!
I’m 35 years old and have would wake up every morning to get ready while watching you 3. I remember when you got mad at Jillian for showing your son Playboy. I remember when you would always share pictures of you son and you thought he looked like JB. I remember Steve was always so kind, and professional to everyone on that set. Men like him are hard to find now a days. I hope he clears his name. I believe in him and I’m so proud you all are supporting him and his family in this hard time. I hope to see you guys together on t.v soon.
In the new days (by that I mean this fall), Jill singing about Larry’s nuts would probably get one or the other in deep trouble. I look forward to Steve’s statements about his departure, when he is ready to share.

Steve is probably the smartest guy around, not to feed the social media Monster. I, too, hope he gets the opportunity to defend himself. I want him to come out, Guns blazing! But he’s very wise to wait, and do it right. But, when the time is right, GIVE ‘EM HELL, STEVE!!
