You know I hardly wear makeup any more (just ask my poor husband). Even my Good News Girl Ana Garcia will occasionally say “would it kill you to put on a little eyeliner?” But I did put some on for the Power Of Women event. I even I got there (relatively) on time. Wearing eyeliner. But apparently I forgot to zip my dress.
Wendy Burch walked in (by then I was zipped) and asked “Is there anyone famous here?” I think everyone there was famous (with the possible exception of me). First person I saw was Justin Timberlake. He was there to support his girlfriend Jessica Biel.
Each year Variety honors women who use their power for good, Jessica has been working with (one of my favorite charities ) Charity Water. One of our Mending KIds is from a tiny village in Ethiopia. His family has to walk a full day to find water. Jessica was introduced by her friend Jennifer Garner. Jenn said Jessica is the Laverne to her Shirley. A few minutes later Jennifer’s husband Ben Affleck ( I told you it was like celeb sardines) spoke. Or tired to, he had bronchitis.
Halle Berry gave a long, raw explanation of her hit and run. She said she wasn’t drinking or thinking when she left the scene. She was dazed and bloody. Her “time” for her crime was community service. It brought her to the Jenesse Center. A shelter for battered woman. She was forced to go there but says she will never leave. Kathern Heigl talked about her Mother’s cancer and cried. Felicity Huffman managed to use the F word in her speech. And Queen Latifah was …Queen Latifah. It is the best event of the year and I said that even before I saw the gift bag. The event was Friday. I was still going through the gift bag last night.
And last night my Good News Girls came over for dinner ( David cooked…well wait I did make the salad). Wendy brough her sweet little Sophia Loren (a dog the size of my phone). Sophia was (as always ) wearing a dress. I often wonder how my Sandra will describe her time in Malibu. Mom there was a doggy in a dress. El perro en un vestido. Loco. Im suprised the dog doesnt wear eyeliner.
Sounds like a great event, and that pic is so cute!!!!
Dorothy I miss you so much !!!!!! you were such a big part of my every day life. thank you for always makeing me smile. my God bless you and keep under his arms. I hope that some day we will be able to see you on t.v.. thank you dot for all the smiles.
Sounds like a very nice event …..
We miss you… I was at a friends home this morning and she had GDLA on… I had stopped watching when you left… The new girl that was on (didn’t catch her name) was just awful…and so was Steve…and I actually love Steve….the new woman felt she had to comment on EVERYTHING and her attempt to be cool fell flat and was very awkward ….I think it made Steve awkward as well….they had a guy making pizza and the new woman was jabbering on and on as Steve was singing very loud with Dean Martin …. It was excruciating….
I also miss you on GDLA and would love to see you do a talk show.
I’m happy the POW event turned out well and I’m happy you women are doing such wonderful community work. I too am a Domestic Violence survivor Dorothy and I know just how important your work is. I thank you. Sandra sure looks well and happy but of course I would too if I were petting that puppy, lol. How cute. I got up every morning at 5AM, donned the makeup and off I went. I retired in 2010 and guess what? I have a hard time taking the time to put makeup on as well. How does David feel? If he doesn’t mind then so be it. Love the blog and anxiously await the next chapter. Hugs.
PS: Next time you see Ben give him a kiss for me and tell him Bunny says hi, lmbo
so they use their power for good? …thats so funny
Its sad to no longer see you on GDLA and now that Jill is gone i really don’t watch the show. You three had the best chemistry and i have watch you three since i was 12 or whenever you first started, i’m thirty now and its been hard trying to adjust with you and Jill on the set.
I’m glad to see you are doing better things and helping others and most of all Making a Difference.
Courtney
Dorothy, I really think what does Sandra think every time I read your blog. Does she think we all live like that?? Amazing you keep me reading every day. Comectimg here is sooo much more open . Hugs to all!
Miss you and Jillian on GDLA. I’m sad they didn’t have Jill on for a Last day. Maybe it was her choice?
I’m familiar with the Jenesse group and the good work they do – I was introduced to them by my son who is contracted to do all their video work. Look at reelifepictures.com to see what they do.
Dorothy how can we get involved in helping this kidds just like you did. My Husband and I have no children and would really like to help a kid. please let me know. love haydee
Kudos for foregoing the eyeliner. You are always sexy and raccoon eyes are neither sexy nor attractive. They look as silly as bad Halloween makeup, or stone age Japanese Geisha masks. Natural is sexier.

Miss you on GDLA. The producer is nuts! The show is boring without you and Jillian.. Boring, boring, boring!
