So What’s The Best Movie of The Year?

I  took a walk and some photos by the ocean. I got soaked and almost lost my camera.  So maybe I’ll skip photography and stick to writing.

   In  2 days I saw what maybe the 2 best movies of the year. Now the question is am I allowed to tell you?  When you are lucky enough to see the movies early you are  often asked not to review them.    

So do not in any way construe this as a review.  I saw Zero Dark Thirty and Les MIz.

Anne Hathaway play Fantine. She will not have to Dream a Dream of Oscar.  She will win.  I mean she lost 25 pound (eating mostly dry oatmeal) and cut off her hair (says she looks like her gay brother).  She will make grown men cry.   Grown man High Jackman ( who does an excellent Steve Edwards impression) may also win.  The only disappointment is someone can’t sing (any guesses?) 

Les Miz is bloody ( and bloody good).  Zero Dark Thirty has some bloody scenes too.  And I actually watched. Often I look away.  But there is no looking away from this movie.  It was directed by Kathryn Bigelow (The Hurt Locker).  She’s the first woman to ever win the Oscar for Best Director.  If she wins again I guess she will be the 1st and 2nd woman to win.  Spoiler Alert  (as Obama said) we get Osama.

Also loved some smaller films like Silver Linings Playbook and Perks of Being a Wallflower.  Still  need to see The Hobbit (still remember my 5th grade teacher reading us that book. Thank you Mrs Blanks!) and Life of Pi (loved the book,)

Looking up from my computer I can give you the  Malibu surf report. The waves are huge today.  May have to take another wet walk…
