I maybe the only woman who goes to Africa and gains weight. Could have been the beer. The wine tastes like pee. At least I think that’s what pee tastes like. So we dank beer. 20 Birr for a beer (about a buck a beer).
Now my husband wants to do this wheat free diet. I never eat anything that hasn’t been to a factory first. But all that crap has wheat in it. Even low-fat salad dressing has wheat in it. The only food (food?) I like that is totally wheat free is wine.
Wine was flowing (and champagne as I vaguely recall) at the DGA Awards. A good friend of mine (Savage Steve Holland) was nominated. I decided to go last-minute. Hence the frantic search for a dress. Yes I wore the fun but butt ugly one.

Ben Affleck won. He was fun and flustered. He said he wants his girls to grow up and be Kathryn Bigelow ( 1st chick to win the DGA Award). But says they can do anything as long as they don’t get tattoos. He used the F word a few times and left the stage. Dazed. I think ARGO will win the Oscar. But Ben isn’t up for Best Director so that’s up for grabs. Spielberg may win. But Cedric The Entertainer spoke a dirty Hollywood secret that night. Lincoln is too freakin’ long. Cedric said the bootleg copy he got was 45 minutes shorter and better. Don’t know if Spielberg was amused. But he was amusing. Martin Short did a (long) into before Spielberg spoke. Afterward Steven said since Bill Clinton wasn’t available to introduce him he asked his assistant to get Marty. But he meant Scorsese.
It was a fun and funny evening. And I’m sure I lost weight because I didn’t eat the bread and I drank the wheat free wine.
My sweet Sandra is whining for a donut. When she came here she ate fruit. A few months with me she’s eating donuts, wearing animal print and watching The Bachelor. Please do not call Child Services on me. I’m being the best Host Mommy I can be.
Her host Daddy’s birthday is this week. I think we will make a wheat free cake. Or just buy him some nice what free wine…

We are doing the wheat free diet also. Already did the virgin diet. Lost 9lbs
