I kind of stopped wearing makeup. It’s not a boycott. I’m lazy. And I did like having my makeup done. It’s the one thing I miss from TV. My husband used to say you look so pretty without make up. He USED to say that.
It wouldn’t kill me to put a little lip gloss on. But I suffered through an acid peel. So I’m OK with naked face.
Now I need the naked truth…
Am I the only girl in the world who doesn’t own a vibrator?
I went on a hike with some friends. We did 5 miles. The first 3 were about vibrators. One friend heard a loud sound and thought her house was ready to blow. Apparently her vibrator was on (a vibrator can turn itself on??) It was banging away (of course it was) in a drawer.
Not sure why I’m writing about vibrators while watching the Vatican. I never was a good Catholic. I was a cafeteria Catholic (take what you need and leave the rest). But I’m a pretty good Presbyterian. You can’t tell that from this blog. But I am.
Meanwhile back at the hike. After sweating out the toxins the girls went for a cocktail. I left to get my son (which was much less fattening.)
About my diet…or lack there of. I gave up wheat and gained weight (because of the the wheat free candy and the wheat free wine). I will TRY to give up sugar. By sugar I mean candy. Wine is practically a fruit. Still this will be difficult in the Lenten/jelly bean season. My favorite restaurant is the candy aisle at CVS.
Perhaps a food diary? So far today I ate (?) coffee. With that vanilla Coffee-mate crap (which is packed with sugar).
Maybe I could skip the diet if I wore a little makeup. The brighter the lip the smaller the hip?
Dorothy…try Starbucks caramel coffee with half and half and if you are really brave … some coconut oil…no crap Dorothy..lol
Dorothy I must say I do miss watching you Lillian and Steve together . Now about the vibrator, you aren’t the only one who doesn’t own one. They say they come in handy but just haven’t ventured that road. No sugar or cut out some carbs which would probably help on your diet.
Sorry that was a bad typo it’s Jillian.
OMG! You are so funny, What a great sense of humor you have. Being off tv has done wonders for you. Love the blogs. And you look so happy, even without makeup, it is to hot in California to wear much anyways.
Didn’t you know that Sunglasses is the new mascara?? Not wearing make-up is freeing. I do wear the bare minerals spf 20 powder and a little blush but no eye makeup. It’s all good! And I don’t have a vibrator either. tee hee
I love reading your blogs! You write as if you know us personally and that’s awesome! Thank you and keep them coming
YOU CRACK ME UP Dorothy…you really need one…if you’re too embarrassed to buy one in person just get one online..if we see you walking around more with a great big ole smile on your face, we’ll all know why..lol. plus you’ll be so naturally flushed you won’t need makeup…lol…as far as the makeup i think most women look better without it..don’t get me wrong for evening out or photographs makeup makes a world of difference, but i personally think when women cake on all the makeup it makes you look older sometimes..especially if you are older…just go natural..you’re really cute so don’t worry about it…it’s your personality that shines through, make-up or no make-up..thanks for the laughs..love reading your blog..keep it going
OK, Ms. Lucey. This blog is a personal best. It makes me envision your TV book tour for “DottyBlogs” or better yet–”Of Vibrators and The Vatican”—the compilation book of your best blogs. The world needs your voice, your humor, your you-ness. For god’s sake (and the Pope’s) keep the excellence coming! You’ll be back on TV in a hot minute, and once again, someone who’s paid for it will be doing your hair and makeup.
If you elect to go with makeup.
I’m just saying.
Dorothy, seriously get a vibrator! even a small one to have fun with (with the hubby or without)
I never wear make-up so dont care about that but chapstick is a must.
I wish you and Jill were on tv again..the show really sucks now..stopped watching.I also think that if they got rid of you ladies that Steve should have gone to…just sayin.
write more posts if you can your funny!
