At Brit week I ran into a Canadian. A girl I worked with for a decade or two.
Jillian & I laughed, cussed & discussed our lives. We did a show in the middle of the event.
I don’t usually discuss this because it sounds whiny but so many people came up to us & said we miss that thing you used to do.
One woman said ( and I quote) “Shit! I mean what the fuck?’
I think that was a compliment.
Jillian told me that she told Howard Stern that she had been an ass to me. I said that’s all in the past (unless of course I write a book.)
We were probably too loud for the proper Brits at this proper party. The invitation said dress Shakespearian. To wear, or not to wear a black dress.
We were with our friend Nigel Lythgoe (WARNING there will be name dropping in this blog).
I was chatting with Nigel’s friend Peter Noone. He was the Justin Bieber of his day (minus the egg tossing). His group the Herman’s Hermits ( There’s a kind of hush…) used to be bigger than the Beatles. John Lennon used to buy Peter’s drinks when Peter was underage.
So Peter & I were talking in a loud room & he said ” I’ve met you before.” I said ”I used to do a TV show” (yada yadya yada). The only thing he heard me say was Steve Edwards. He said “is Steve your Father?” If you see Steve please tell him that story.
Enough about my old show, here’s a story about the KTLA morning show.
I was at a beach party last week with Brooke Burke (not sure what’s worse, the cursing or the name dropping). I saw Sam Rubin and his family walking on the beach. He had his kids with him so I brought them over for cake. I introduced Brooke to Sam’s wife. Sam followed all blushing and flustered. I didn’t know (I gave up morning TV) that Sam talks obsessively about Brooke.
I get it. I’m obsessed with her too. We exercise together and I stare at her butt.
Sam continued to stammer in that cute boyish way. He had a long conversation with Brooke’s handsome husband David Charvet (I do apologize for the excessive name dropping.)
As Sam & family walked off into the sunset I said ”Hey, nice of me to hook you up with your imaginary dream wife.”
Sam said after Brooke met his wife & after talking to Brooke’s husband… it kind of killed the fantasy.
Sorry Sammy.
And sorry about not watching your show.
I know Jill & I no longer do morning TV.
But we still put on a pretty good show at a party.
Hi Sue! I know you! Nice to hear from you. xo DL
It’s about time we started hearing from you Divas again.
We can help the Malibu community.
Since you left GDLA I’ve only watched KTLA in the morning and had always hoped you’d end up there. A girl can still dream that you’ll be back on morning TV, can’t she? You’d fit with them perfectly.
Great Blog Dorothy Hope to meet you and Jill someday
Your Amazing still!!!
I REALLY MISS THE OLD CREW. YOU, Jillian and Jean were my family. It’s so nice to keep up with you on ur blog. God bless
I really miss the old crew of you, Jillian, and Jean. The show will never be the same again. You were part of our family. I love to keep up with you on your blogs. God bless you Dorthy!!❤️
As Dorothy ‘s oldest and best friend and a frequent GDLA “visitor” with my children I love this.. You go girls.. Isn’t Living Well and looking better than anyone else the best revenge ??
I think you should start on “online”show if for no other reason than 2 annoy bad management everywhere .. just cant keep the good ( and bad) girls down…and I think I would get a little NASHVILLE and call it “DONT PUT DIRT ON MY GRAVE JUST YET”……… XXXXOOOOO
You funnier than me. xo
I miss everything since I moved to Colorado Springs
.MY LIFE SUCKS
Happy to see you & Jillian are still friends.
It was a mistake letting you go but Jillian was like nails on a chalkboard
Since I don’t have a witty blog of my own, I’m posting a heartfelt “Thank you!” to your intelligent readers here in comments. You know I miss you guys a ton! PS..To think, Jillian and I just recently talked about us three “appearing” at Nobu Malibu.. That would be a show!
I would even eat sushi for you two.
Add me to the throngs that miss you and Jillian (and Jean Martirez!!).. I stopped watching after you women left, sorry couldn’t stand it. I really liked Steve Edwards but it just wasn’t interesting any more. and he just seems uncomfotable with the new ‘girl’.
Okay if there is a “NOBU” reunion I’m in and please let me bring my grown up children who adore BOTH OF YOU ,,, for different reasons of course !!
Jillian and you should have your own talk show. I didn’t care for Steve (Mr. Know it all)

I agree. A talk show with you and Jill would be awesome and hilarious! You can bring Jean with you too.
You are a class act.

You are missed. I was a guest on your infamous talk show with Sam,called Scoop. Why not team up with Sammy again. If the morning news shows are dumb enough not to hire you, then that would be a wonderful alternative. I’d guest again, although you probably have no idea who I am! LOL.
