I found the fountain of youth.
Or the fountain of growing older slower.
It’s kind of milky.
And Milky Way loves it.
And…
it’s cheap.
Like 10 bucks cheap.
I like expensive face stuff.
Just tried samples of hundreds of bucks of stuff.
I was shopping with angels.
Not the Victoria Secret kind.
Lipstick Angels is a charity started by makeup artists.
They give love and lipstick to cancer patients.
They had a shopping fundraiser at Barney’s.
It’s fun to try fancy face stuff.
With fancy friends like Debbie Allen & Alana Stewart.
But my face belongs to…
coconut cream.
Not the pie.
I hate that pie.
But I love pure Earthcoco coconut cream.
Pretty healthy for a girl who never eats anything that hasn’t been to factory first.
But I don’t eat it.
I wear it.
On my face, neck, arms and legs.
Here’s my beauty routine.
I apply.
Then hide from my dog.
She licks it off.
So I apply.
Then hide.
When my son was young we’d play a game we called Hide & Go Milky.
That dog can always find me.
But my skin looks good.
So it’s coconut or dog saliva.
That new How-Old.net website says I’m 26.
Even though it took a few photos to get that low…
the coconut (or photoshop) seems to be working for me.
I just saw the man who first put me on TV.
Back when I was twenty.
Haven’t seen him in over twenty years.
Back then…
I was working in a clothing store.
Without Nick Lawler…
I’d probably still be there.
He was just in LA.
So we met for a drink.
Sparkling water.
Does that still count as a drink?
He said my first audition was awful.
Couldn’t read the teleprompter.
Still can’t.
But I guess he saw something in me.
He showed my audition tape to a colleague.
Who said…
She might have a career ahead of her.
But I wouldn’t risk mine to hire her.
Nick hired me anyway.
Made me a reporter in Scranton PA.
On my first live shot,
I tried that walking and talking thing.
In a muddy field.
Took one step…
Stepped out of my shoe.
Had to do it on one foot like a flamingo.
Shaking like my dog after a bath.
So bad.
But somehow…
I got a job in NY & then LA.
So if I’ve ever irritated you on TV…
Blame Nick.
Since I’m not on TV right now…
I like to write.
But I’m about to finish up this blog.
Put some coconut cream on…
And hide.
Whether you’re anchoring, writing or just being, you rock! I’d write more on how fabulous I think you are but I have to go out now and buy some coconut cream. The pie and the face cream. I also need to go kiss my dogs. Or rather, let my dogs kiss me. Just in case. Xoxo
Thank you & just love you Gigi.

Don’t get me wrong, you’re still the dish at the menu top,
Rockin’ bikinis at your age means a lot.
Along with your symmetry comes a beautiful brain,
Which can be good, but often drives us insane.
It’s probably the ego, you might need an asterisk,
But how long did it really take to find that 26 pic?
Your old station is now super sad and ran by fools,
Apparently you were a key tool.
Now with six clicks down the dial,
we get an AM news show that is worthwhile.
As nice as it is, it is easy to tell,
That body of yours is just a shell.
The spirit within is what makes it alive,
Here’s hoping we will see that 26 pic on Channel 5.
Love my poem!
And true…I had to use a few photos.
I changed the blog to reflect that.

Hey Teenager,
I have always loathed coconut, and I would be the one hiding if people around me were eating it–much less wearing it. HOWEVER, after reading your deeeee-licious blog with the creamy coconut center, I’ve pledged to give it the old college try once again. How bad can it be if Milky is all over it?
By the way, it was wonderful as always seeing much too much of each other while trying on clothes today. We earned our cheese just trying to wrangle our way into those Barbie doll jeans obviously meant for toddlers!
You, I dig.
But I believe you got your butt into those jeans.
Impressive.
Adore you!

Hi Dorothy! You take that score of 26 and run with it girl.
whenever someone tells me i look great for my age (59) i just tell them it’s all smoke and mirrors, but i truly appreciate any compliment at this age. I was out the other day, searching for a firming cream for my face and this lady was next to me. She looked over at me and i said to her: Is there such a thing as a miracle in a bottle because that’s what i’m searching for..we both just laughed..at this age i’m game for anything that even shows the slightest improvement. So far the best thing i’ve found is Peter Thomas Roth..they have one that will make you feel like you just had a face lift. I may have to try your idea of coconut cream..where does one get that by the way?
Seriously though, you look fabulous..whatever you’re doing keep doing it. I personally think it’s your spirit and soul that keep you youthful. Happy Mother’s Day a little early Dorothy..i’ll be in Malibu this Sunday with my son..hope the traffic isn’t too nuts..lol..

Dorothy,
You look beautiful and happy. Your also hysterically funny. I love reading your blogs and everyone misses you on TV. The Fox News is blog scoring and not sure if I like new format. I watch Matt Lauer and I don’t really like him either. Lol
You should write a “book!
