PANIC
She texts me…
BREATHE
Often I’m the one telling people to breathe.
But breathing got me into this mess.
I got in my car.
Heading to a fundraiser.
Pat and I were being honored.
Feeling blessed.
Liked my dress.
Took a deep breath…
And felt fresh air.
On my derriere.
My zipper unzipped.
What the hell?!
I have zipper issues.
Could be my gigantic boobs.
Except I’m barely a b-cup.
And it ripped by my rump.
So…
I get to the fancy Montage Hotel.
In fancy Beverly Hills.
For the fancy event.
All the woman wear pink shoes.
It’s called the Pink Pump.
I’m hiding my pink rump.
One woman says…”Do you know your…”
Another woman says… I can fix it.
I called her Saint Debra.
She called me Zipper.
As Saint Debra unzipped and zipped me…
She told me she’s part of a charity called 180 Degrees.
They feed 5,000 hungry kids in LA every day.
That…
And she saved my ass.
Literally.
All zipped…
I searched for the saintly Pat Harvey.
We were there to represent the Good News Foundation.
We were so honored to be honored by the Special Needs Network.
They help underserved kids with autism in LA everyday.
We found Areva Martin.
Areva started the charity.
She’s a force of nature.
I bet her zipper never breaks.
We all hit the pink carpet.
It’s been the week of charity events.
And also of something not so charitable.
I got a tweet…
That’s like the new version of a guy walks into a bar.

That said…
Are you going to Steve’s 20 year anniversary on Good Day LA?
I thought…
20 years.
Wow.
I thought…
20 years.
What the fuck?
Sorry.
But…
What the hell! Just doesn’t cut it.
20 years.
I was there for almost 18 of the 20.
I get that I got let go.
I still don’t know why…
But…
Still…
I thought they should invite Jillian and me to the party.
But no.
So…
I went to turn on the TV.
My husband said to me…
Why?
So…
I turned off the TV.
I texted Jill…
Happy Anniversary!
She sent me a photo of her kids.
I send her a photo of my dog.
Total role reversal.
Texting Jill.
Reading your tweets…
That was our anniversary party.
And it was fun.
My son asked me..
Was it such a big deal you two weren’t invited on the show?
I said no.
But…
I said…
I was on that show longer than you’ve been alive.
Then I tweeted that.
Then I told myself…
BREATHE.
I haven’t watched GDLA since you and Jillian left and if you look at the ratings, not many others watch it either. That show was a classic when you both were there. No show will ever replace it. They say everything happens for a reason. I’m still trying to figure out the “reason”.
I don’t watch GDLA anymore because it is B.O.R.I.N.G without you and Jillian. Don’t get me wrong, I still love Steve, but as the song goes, “the thrill is gone.” Well, I’m off to watch some early morning TV….I’m sure there’s a Gilligan’s Island rerun I can watch somewhere on cable…..

Don’t worry – I know someone who has worked there for over 30 years and has NEVER had an “Anniversary Party.” Besides – it (the show) seemed lame. It was really only highlighting the last two years – what happened to the other 18???
So sad the producers/suits “don’t get it.” But – the rest of us do.

I love your stories also, its kind of a peek into that world and you do great things with your friends.
I don’t watch GDLA either, haven’t since you & Jillian left or as she use to say “das boot”, of course that was so shocking, anyway, KTLA should send Fox11 flowers & thank you cards for breaking you guys up. I understand they are the beneficiary!
Your husband & son are hilarious! Oh and I do watch your husband on his investigations, those are great!
I lived in ID and WA and watched your show from 1996 until you and Jill were unceremoniously removed from the show. When I moved to OR and GDLA was not covered, I watched on the live feed on the Internet. The exchanges between the three of you were the draw for me, I just enjoy good entertainment and chemistry between the tv hosts. The inconsiderate removal of both you and Jillian is further confirmed by your omission in the 20 year anniversary for Steve. Such a sad, clueless management.
Meanwhile, please continue your wonderful charitable works and talented Blogs -great work!
The way you write. Resonates with everyone just as it was when we were lucky enough to have u on our tv screens for 18 years…….I wanted you to show up with a blood tear …..even though. That idiot. Producer is not there …..would have been amazing ….kudos to all the great work you have done since
We missed you and Jillian on anniversary show,but now we truly enjoy all you do for all the kids,nothing can beat the rewards you get out of that ,not to mention the brownie points your racking up with the man upstairs. Thank You Dorothy for everything you do.

Perhaps the execs did not want to remind viewers about the time when the show was a success. I live in New Hampshire and followed you guys every day through the magic of DirecTV and the DVR. Can you imagine another market drawing viewers from across the country to a local news/entertainment show? Probably not a common occurrence.
As I tweeted to you it was magical. Perfect chemistry from 3 outstanding people in whom the summation was even greater then the parts. It worked. Your son was right you were snubbed, but snubbed by the folks who fucked up ( your words the success they once had. They missed the mark with you and Jill and they missed it again. Should anybody be surprised ? Poor judgement is sadly too easy to find. Keep the faith keep writing or get your “arse “back on TV!

My son’s birthday is in July…I’ve watched you one year less than he’s bee alive!
I stopped watching Fox and TV about that July of ’012 (lost Dish cable)!
I sent Steve best wishes for the next 20 years. (I would’ve invited you!).
