It’s been raining.
And I’m pouring tea.
I’m a coffee drinker.
But I drink tea when I write.
Mostly I’m writing emails for Mending Kids.
We have a fundraiser coming up.
I’ll bug you to buy tickets in a bit.
But I’m thinking about…
Mending me.
Probably because of an email from a friend.
We’re both working on books.
Except I’m not working on mine.
She said sit your ass down and write.
Except she said it nicely.
She said don’t be witty.
Write what you fucking feel.
Except she said it nicely.
She said you don’t share struggles with your friends.
Try to share them with your readers.
It’s true.
I do not always share.
This may have come from my mom.
Who never left the house without makeup on.
I don’t wear much makeup.
But I Facetune my photos.
And I Facetune my life.
I show a smoother version of me.
Guess I was raised that way.
Guess that’s why I have raised shoulders.
I needed a massage.
I decided to get one for my soul.
I went to a lecture by Marianne Williamson.
I’ve interviewed Marianne many times.
The first time she was rushed and rude to our makeup artist.
After the show she apologized.
I’ve always admired her combo of graciousness and zero bullshit.
Her lecture was on the book A Course In Miracles.
The book begins with…this is a required course…
Only when you take it is voluntary.
So death, taxes, Botox and this book.
So…I’ve been reading it.
It’s deep.
And I am not.
But if, like me, you want the easy bake, life hack version…
The course says you can save the world.
This startled me because I always say…go save the world!
I’m kind of joking.
I just mean be kind.
Do what you can for others.
But on page 873 the book it says “feel free to forgive, and free to save the world.”
Crap…
There’s a catch.
You have to forgive first.
I had lunch yesterday with my friend Char the Psychic.
She says 3 out of 4 spirits agree.
Forgiveness is key.
And recently people from my past seem to be popping up.
Like whack a mole.
I could whack…
But I found a life hack on forgiveness.
It’s the Hawaiian Ho’oponopono prayer.
Think of someone you want to forgive.
And say to yourself…
I love you.
I’m sorry.
Please forgive me.
Thank you.
It’s about taking responsibility for your part.
Do it a few times.
It helps.
And if you want to help kids…the Mending Kids event is 4/29.
Hopefully it won’t be raining
It’s sunny now.
And my shoulders seem lower.
I’m mending me.
I do not leave the house without make up. I have seen you without yours although not in person. You look great both ways. This is pretty powerful. I want nothing to do with the person I want to forgive so I wonder if that counts as being a forgiving person? Love you! Write on!!
