Got on a bike in Central Park.
I starting riding…
It started raining.
I tried to avoid puddles and horse poop.
The carriage drivers don’t curb their horses.
If they did…
They’d need a really big bag.
Rode by the BoatHouse, the fountain and The Met.
Magical places in NYC.
Mr G and I were there with Nash and his girlfriend.
It still surprises people who used to see me on TV to hear that Nash is a grown up.
We climbed up The Vessel.
We rode up The Empire State Building.
We had lunch at Tavern on the Green.
Mostly we seemed to be on pork bun tour.
We had them at Momofuku, Shun Lee and Tao.
Had my first Sake bomb at Tao.
The things you learn from your kids.
Yes, Nash is old enough to drink.
I told you…
He’s (practically) a grown ass man.

On the lovely back patio of Il Cortile.
It’s across the street from Uberto’s Clam House.
Famous for seafood and a mob hit there years ago.
From there we walked to the 911 museum.
It’s a gut punch.
But a must do.
MOMA is closed for renovation so I couldn’t drag the kids to see the Water Lilies.
But we did hit The Met.
The Temple of Dendur is my other museum must do.
And The Met roof has the best view in NYC.
You know I love a roof top.
Especially when there’s a bar up there.
We had rose’ on a roof of The Empire Hotel.
And because Aaron Sorkin (and Bono, who once had a nasty bike accident in Central Park) is my hall pass we went to see To Kill a Mockingbird.
The words of Harper Lee, mixed with the words of Aaron Sorkin, spoken by Jeff Daniels.
The first act is ambling
The second act is searing.
It’s Broadway at it’s best.
I wanted another week of plays and pork buns.
But it was time to go.
We had an accident on the way you the airport.
Our cab hit a car on the Van Wyck.
While the drivers were arguing…
I recalled a cab ride years ago.
I had moved to LA.
But was back in the city to interview Howard Stern for the movie Private Parts.
A cabbie picked me up at the airport.
He kept glancing at me.
Finally he said…
Aren’t you the girl from WABC?
I said…
I used to be.
He said…
What happened?
I said…
I moved to LA.
He said…
Why the fuck did you do that?
I said…
I love LA.
But I still miss the smell of horse poop in the park.
